A cold front will blast across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic today. A line of thunderstorms and heavy showers will develop ahead of that front. Along that line, winds will gust over 40 mph and there is the chance of a brief tornado. We have seen tornado warnings early this morning north of Pittsburgh and it’s not out of the question given the shear, temperatures and dew points that a brief tornado occurs with some of the stronger storms. Once the front moves through, temperatures will fall into the 50s.
