The same system that produce flooding in California will move into the Plains today. Severe thunderstorms will develop across the High Plains and race east into Texas and Oklahoma tonight and Wednesday. The storms will produce damaging winds, large hail and a couple of tornadoes. The tornado threat will be from western Kansas into western Oklahoma. That is the area where the shear is the greatest for storms to rotate and produce tornadoes this evening. Overnight, the storms will become a squall line with wind damage.
