A clipper that is currently over British Columbia will swing across the Midwest and Great Lakes this weekend with snow and snow mixed with rain. If it were just a month later and much colder we would see more snow but given the time of the year and surface temperatures we are looking at 1-3 inches of wet snow with rain and snow mix south of the track. The snow should move across eastern Canada and the Northeast but be lighter with amounts of 1/2 to 2 inches. Some of the higher locations of the Northeast could see 4 inches of snow. Below are some of the model images. Notice the GFS shows up to 6 inches of snow across the southern Great Lakes which I think is too unless lake effect develops too.
