This week for most of us we will see some nice and quiet weather. Most of the US will enjoy nice sunny weather. The West, Southwest, and the Plaines will be where the warm and sunny weather will hang out all week. Some of those areas could see temps crack into the 90’s. The Midwest, Upper Great Lakes, and Northeast will enjoy nice warm weather until the end of the week, when cooler air from Canada moves in. Along with the cooler temps it won’t be cold enough for any precipitation to produce accumulating snow, unless you’re in the higher elevations in the NE. Those higher elevations may see some snow showers.
On Sunday and Monday there is a chance of some severe weather to move through New Mexico, Kansas, and parts of Nebraska. These storms could produce some gusty winds and hail. As the storms move out of Kansas on Tuesday, the storms will continue to move into Iowa and Missouri and weaken slightly. Iowa and Missouri could see some severe weather on Tuesday if the storms strengthen and become severe. On Thursday, the Northeast will see some storms move into the area. These storms have a slight chance of being severe. The Pacific NW will see a few rounds of showers and cooler temps roll in.
The tropics have been somewhat active the last few days with Nadine and Oscar forming. Hurricane Oscar developed quickly near Cuba and the Bahamas. Oscar will make his way out to the Atlantic by mid-week, but not before producing some heavy rain and storm surge to the Bahamas. Nadine now a Tropical Depression continues to weaken after making landfall near Guatemala.
