Across most of the US we are experiencing a drought. The current conditions are not helping the cause with some very windy conditions across most of the middle part of the US that also extends to the East. The windy conditions also enhances the fire danger to certain areas. With the warm weather pattern we are in you can see that most of the US is enjoying nice summer weather in October! By the end of the week another cold front will move in and cool temperatures down. With the cold front there will be some showers, some will be severe, out ahead of it in the Plains and into the Midwest and Great Lakes. Even with the rain some areas won’t see enough to help end the drought. We will have to keep an eye on the weather over the next week or so as a change in the weather pattern will happen in November, and bring some snow showers to the East and Warm temps to the West. Below I’ve attached some models showing the warm temps and high winds along with the cold front moving in.
