Weekly Highlights November 10th to 16th

This week we are in a period of calm, before multiple snowstorms are anticipated to hit towards the end of the month. We shift our focus to a wet and soggy forecast for the Midwest and Northeast. Multiple days this week the Midwest and Northeast will see some showers move in. The rain is needed for parts of the Northeast still experiencing drought conditions as well as some wildfires. Although the rains won’t solve everything, they will indeed provide some much-needed relief. The Pacific NW will also see multiple days of showers this week. With all the rain nothing looks to be severe.

Some colder air will make its way into the plains and Northeast this week, bringing some chilly air and temps only in the 30’s and 40’s. With the cold temps some parts of the NE could see show snow showers on Tuesday and Friday. Those areas could see 1-2 inches of snow. The Rockies this week will continue to pack on the snow which bodes well for all the Ski Resorts, especially after Colorado saw 30 + inches of snow in the last few days.

The South continues to be warm and sunny. Parts of the South around Louisiana could see a shower mid-week from the leftover moisture in the air from Rafael.

Rafael, still a Tropical Storm per the NHC, is dying out in the Gulf. Over the next day Rafael should completely dissipate. While there isn’t anything active in the tropics, I think this could be it for the hurricane season.
