This week will be one for all the snow lovers. We will see 3 snow-storms affect most of the US. Tuesday into Wednesday, Friday into Saturday and Saturday into next Sunday will be the days where we will see rain, sleet, ice, snow, a chance at severe weather and some localized flooding. A busy week for sure, and February will continue that pattern of cold and snow. Sunday to Tuesday, the Northeast will deal with some lake-effect snow, which will enhance snowfall totals in the area throughout the week. Tuesday into Wednesday, snow will develop from KC to the Northeast. To the south of this storm some ice and mixed precip will develop in areas from Missouri to the Virginia’s, and areas further south of the mixed precip will see rain. The DFW area into the Southeast will see the potential for some severe weather and localized flooding on Tuesday into Wednesday.
The next storm Wednesday into Thursday, will start in the Denver area and makes its way through the Midwest, Great Lakes and into the Northeast. Some Mixed precip will also accompany this storm in areas from St. Louis to the Mid-Atlantic states. Late Thursday into Friday, snow will develop in the Plains and makes its way through the Tennessee Valley to the Mid-Atlantic states.
Saturday into next Sunday, snow will develop in the Plains and Great Lakes and makes its way across the area into the Northeast. Overall snowfall totals are on the map and are for the week, since we will see 3 storms. From KC through the Midwest and into parts of the Northeast, snowfall totals could exceed 8’’. Areas further north and south will see anywhere from 1-8’’. It looks to be a crazy week and busy week of snow, ice, rain, and some severe weather.
