This week we start and end the week with some severe weather and snow. To kick things off a clipper will come down through the Upper Great Lakes on Sunday and making its way to the Northeast on Monday. Accumulations look to be around 1-4’’ with some areas further north seeing over 4’’. Monday, for parts of NY, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine that clipper will produce snow. Accumulations look to be around 1-4’’ , with parts of New Hampshire and Maine seeing over 4’’. Tuesday and Saturday more snow will come through parts of the Northeast. Total accumulations look to be around 1-4’’. The upper areas of NY to Maine will see the most snow throughout the week, with totals over 4’’.
On Sunday into Monday, severe weather will break out in the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys. With these storms hail and gusty winds will be the main threat. On Monday, severe weather will continue in the Mississippi Valley into the Gulf Coast states as they move to the East. Hail and winds will also be the threat for those storms, you may see a tornado from these storms if conditions are right.
Cooler air comes down this week for the Plains, Midwest and parts of theNortheast. Those areas will see some scattered showers throughout the week. Tuesday night into Wednesday, the Ohio Valley into the Virginias could see some thunderstorms develop. Thursday into Friday, in the southern part of Texas, storms look to develop and will eventually make their way to the North leading to our next system next weekend. That system will develop in the Plains and meet with the system from Texas. The Plains and Upper Great Lakes will see some snow behind the rain. Out ahead of this system severe weather will impact the Midwest, parts of the Great Lakes, and the Mississippi Valley. Accumulations in the Plains look to be around 1-4’’ while Parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the UP of Michigan could see over 4’’ of snow. It’s still too early to tell exactly how the storm will progress but will be an interesting end to the week.
