This week the weather looks to calm down after the week we’ve had. To start the week on Sunday, storms will break out across the Southeast as they make their way towards the Mid-Atlantic states on Monday. Some of those storm will be severe, and will be gusty at times. A tornado is not out of the question with these storms. Heavy rains will accompany these storms with some localized flooding on Sunday into Monday. The Southeast to the Mid-Atlantic states could see several inches of rain in that span. Cooler air will be coming down into the Northern Plains, Great Lakes, and parts of the Northeast for most of the week. The warmer weather will be further south and out west. The Great Lakes and parts of the Northeast including Maine will see some accumulating snow this week. On Monday into Tuesday a clipper comes down into the Great Lakes and Northeast, then again on Thursday rain turns to snow in the Northeast. Accumulations for the week in the Great Lakes and Northeast look to be 1-4’’.
On Wednesday, storms will develop in Iowa and Missouri and impact the Midwest and then into the Ohio Valley on Thursday. To the north of this system, parts of the Ohio Valley into the Northeast could see a dusting of snow on Thursday. On Friday, storms continue to linger in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, eventually sticking around the Mid-Atlantic states on Saturday, producing some heavy rainfall, and snow on the backend of the system.
