Today we are already seeing showers and thunderstorms out across the Southern Plains into the Mississippi Valley. Those storms will continue to move to the east into the Southeast and Texas today. Wind, hail, heavy rainfall, and tornadoes are all in play. Localized flooding will also be an issue today as some areas could see over 2” of rain. The upper Mississippi Valley looks to have a greater chance for tornadoes today with dew points getting into the 70’s. The West continues to be mild while portions of the East still continue to be cooler and wet.
