Today showers and thunderstorms will develop in the Midwest through the Ohio Valley and into parts of the NE and Mid-Atlantic states. Those areas could see some gusty storms, as well as, some heavy downpours. More storms will develop out in the Plains with those storms being severe. Damaging winds and heavy rains will be the main hazard out in the Plains. Showers and thunderstorms along the Gulf coast near Texas and Louisiana today, from a low-pressure system moving through. Heavy rains and some localized flooding could be an issue down in Texas and Louisiana today. Hot and humid conditions throughout most of the US today.
