Daily Maps Monday August 4th, 2025

Later today and into tonight storms will break out across the Plains and produce some severe weather. Hail, gusty conditions, heavy rains, and a tornado is possible. This week portions of the Southeast will see some wet and rainy conditions. Some areas in the SE could see several inches of rain, and localized flooding will be a concern. The air quality for the Midwest, Great Lakes, and certain areas in the Northeast continue to be unhealthy, with the Canadian wildfires still raging. The smoke has made its way down to areas in Texas. In the West, more wildfires are developing and increasing to the smokey conditions much of the eastern part of the US is dealing with. The low-pressure system off the Eastern Seaboard was named over night. Tropical Storm Dexter is out in the Atlantic and will not pose a threat to the US. This week the tropics look to be active, so we will need to see if anything develops.
