This morning we are already seeing some showers and thunderstorms move through the Plains into the Upper Great Lakes, and parts of the Northeast. We will see those storms produce some gusty conditions and some could become severe. With these storms some heavy rains will also be a concern, and some localized flooding is possible. Wildfire smoke continues for much of the Eastern part of the US. Hurricane Erin now a Cat 3 storm, is impacting portions of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. As Erin tracks to the West NW later this week the Outer Banks of NC could see some winds and outer bands of rain from Erin. Hot and dry conditions out west continue to fuel the wildfires.
