Today the High Plains will see some gusty storms and some locally heavy downpours associated with these storms. The Southeast will see some scattered showers and thunderstorms will some heavy rains at times. The Four Corners States continue to deal with daily showers and localized flooding, due to the monsoonal flow affecting the area. Hurricane Erin continues to track to the North as expected. Not much of her rain bands have made it inland, just causes some high surf and dangerous tides along the Outer Banks. Wildfire smoke looks to be improving from both the Canadian wildfires, and the wildfires burning in the West.
