Today we will see some gusty showers and thunderstorms in the Southern Plains into the Mississippi Valley. Those storms could produce some heavy rains as well. The Northeast will see some showers and thunderstorms later today and into tonight. Monsoonal storms continue to impact the West, bringing heavy rains and gusty conditions. The Pacific NW still dealing with dry conditions hampering the efforts to extinguish the wildfires. The smoke from the fires still creating poor air quality for some areas in the Pacific NW. Nothing going on in the tropics currently.
