Today some heavy showers and thunderstorms in the Plains and most of Texas. These storms will bring some gusty conditions and heavy downpours which could lead to some localized and flash flooding. Wildfire smoke now impacting parts of the Midwest and Southeast, from all the fires burning out in the west. No activity in the tropics. The NHC is watching an area off the coast of Africa with a 30% chance of something forming in the next 7 days.
