This morning, we are seeing Winter Storm Fern start to impact the south. Rain, Freezing rain, sleet, and snow are all in play today and into tomorrow, from Texas to Maine. Snow and ice accumulations will create hazardous driving conditions as well as power outages. The heaviest snow will be across Eastern Oklahoma into the Mississippi Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. Those areas could see over 16” of snow. We are still seeing some very cold temperatures in the Plains, Great Lakes, and Northeast. Temps are still below freezing this morning for much of the Plains and Great Lakes. Single digits in the Northeast as well this morning, creating some blustery conditions. We will have to watch and see how Fern plays out and just how much snow and ice areas will see.
