This morning, we are seeing some light snow showers across the Upper Great Lakes, into parts of the Ohio Valley and into the Northeast. Accumulations look to be light with a coating to 1–2”. Attention also turns to a clipper moving through the Northern Plains into the Plains today, which is expected to advance into parts of the Great Lakes and Midwest tomorrow. This system will bring additional light accumulations, with most areas expected to receive a coating to around 3”. While these totals are not significant, they may still lead to minor travel impacts. A surge of cold air has descended from Canada, currently impacting the Plains, Great Lakes, Northeast, and even parts of the Southeast this morning. This has resulted in noticeably colder temperatures for many areas. However, there is some relief ahead, as a gradual warming trend is expected toward the end of the week across these regions. The Pacific Northwest is experiencing a more typical pattern for this time of year, with showers expected throughout the day.
