This morning, showers are moving through portions of the Midwest into the Tennessee Valley. A cold front is advancing across the Northern Plains and will push into the Great Lakes later today. Out ahead of this cold front, additional showers and thunderstorms will develop across the Midwest and track into the Ohio Valley later tonight and into the overnight hours, with a few storms having the potential to become severe. It will also be a windy day across the Northern Plains, Great Lakes, and parts of the Midwest, with wind gusts exceeding 30 mph as the cold front continues to move through the region. Looking ahead, a notable shift in weather is expected for the central Rockies. Tuesday night into Wednesday, the Denver metro area will see accumulating snowfall, with some locations potentially receiving over 4 inches. While snowfall in May is not uncommon for Denver, it will be a brief event, as temperatures are expected to rebound into the 60s and 70s by the weekend, allowing for a quick melt.
